Ice Storm Emergency Update

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan understands a number of our residents have been and continue to be without power since Saturday, March 29.

The OSM Fire Station #1 Training Room, located at 21 Third Street, Keene, is being opened as a warming room, to charge cell phones & for Wi-Fi use.

The Training room is open during regular working hours 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

There is no food or refreshments available.

Water is not available from the Training Room, as this building is not on a municipal water system. The water stored is essential for firefighting purposes. 

Be reminded that the Township will not be picking up wood and brush from properties. The Waste Transfer Station at 1594 Drummond Line accepts brush/green waste free of charge. OSM residents can also temporarily take their residential brush and wood waste free of charge to the Peterborough Landfill at 1260 Bensfort Rd. View full details.

SCAM ALERT

OSM Fire Department and OSM Food Cupboard have been made aware of people calling seeking donations/fundraising for their organizations.

Please be advised that the OSM Fire Department does not seek donations/fundraise and

the OSM Food Cupboard does NOT solicit donations or fundraise over the phone.

Do not provide any personal information or financial information to callers requesting these donations.

 

Half Load Restrictions

Half load restrictions will be in effect from
midnight on March 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025
on all OSM Township roads.

Persons contravening this regulation will be prosecuted under Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act.
